Kelly Konings is a textile designer based in Sweden, specialising in jacquard weaving and more specifically in whole-garment weaving. Researching the relationship between textiles and garments through weaving, cultural history, and craftmanship interpreted through a contemporary lens. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design from ArtEZ University of the Arts (the Netherlands) and a Master’s Degree in Textile Design from the Swedish School of Textiles at the University of Borås (Sweden). Her work has been featured in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, ID Magazine, Scandinavian Minds, and showcased at Copenhagen Fashion Week, Stockholm Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. Her graduate collection attracted significant attention both nationally and internationally, and was amongst others awarded the ‘H&M and ELLE Circular Fashion Award 2023’ at the annual Elle Awards in Stockholm, ‘Ung Svensk Form 2024’ by Svensk Form and nominated for the ‘Dorothy Waxman International Textile Design Prize 2023’, the ‘ALPHA Award 2024’ and the ‘European Craft Prize for Applied Arts 2024’ by BeCraft Awards.
Her work has been presented at institutes such as ITS International Talent Support, New Order of Fashion, The Visionary Lab, The Linen Project, Fashionclash, Stockholm Furniture Fair, Stockholm Craft Week, Dutch Design Week, Salone del Mobile, Stockholm Creative Edition and is represented by Gallery Rademakers.
